It’s fashionable to wait until January to talk about wellness, but at ÀNI Private Resorts, we like to do things differently. We are proud to have prioritized wellbeing long before ‘mindfulness’ became a buzzword, creating environments in which wellness happens naturally.
Our unique, inclusive wellness offering centers around five key principles: movement, relaxation, nutrition, nature and togetherness. This means that you can expect fitness activities, sparkling outdoor swimming pools, yoga classes and a fully-equipped, air-conditioned gym or fitness center at each of our resorts, but we also emphasize relaxation, downtime and quality time together, offering personalized, slower-paced ways to feel good.
Countless studies have proved the healing power of nature. ÀNI’s exclusive-use resorts enjoy outstanding settings in beautiful, far-flung locations. They champion indoor-outdoor living, sensitively blending natural and manmade elements, and merging sympathetically with their surroundings. Living spaces showcase panoramic views and spacious terraces. Many of our included activities are geared towards time spent outdoors, whether that’s exploring the sparkling ocean or adventures on dry land, discovering the local landscapes and embarking on cultural activities that connect you with nature and the locals.
We have relaxation and spa time aced, too. Every ÀNI resort offers its own serene wellness center or spa treatment room – and resort dependent, up to 15 daily treatments per day, (yes, really) are covered in our generous Luxury Inclusions. The only challenging bit is actually fitting these pampering rituals in, with so many other mood-boosting attractions and distractions in store. When it comes to nutrition and dining, our experienced private chefs at each resort take care of every conceivable dietary need and preference, but we’re never preachy when it comes to food. Whatever you’re craving, we’ll create it. Of course, we can create bespoke, healthy menus starring superfood ingredients and calorie-conscious options – but perhaps for you, living well means eating your favorite cuisine with friends and family, enjoying delicious wine and cocktails together in incredible settings. We cater to all tastes and understand that your version of wellness is as unique as you. Items to look forward to include a beach barbecue lunch included within rates, tropical breakfasts with the sea breeze on your skin, and locally inspired afternoon teas, showcasing ingredients sourced nearby. At our Sri Lankan resort, Ayurveda is a natural focus when it comes to dining – and living – mindfully.
To get you feeling inspired about your wellness stay with ÀNI, here are some recommended fitness and nature activities designed to boost mind, soul and body at each of our four exclusive-use stays.
Top fitness activity: Surfing lessons for a range of abilities, from beginner to advanced.
Why? Our favorite local surf spot is a small, horseshoe-shaped bay on Sri Lanka’s south coast, a 15-minute drive away from ÀNI Sri Lanka. It’s surrounded by jungle, so it feels beautifully secluded. With moderate waves in the middle of the bay, Bay Beach break is perfect for beginners. For more advanced surfers, there are bigger waves known as Bay Reef break. The Bay Reef break is a strong and powerful left-hander, which is a thrilling point break for intermediate to advanced surfers. As an added bonus, it is really common to see turtles while you’re surfing in Hiriketiya, considered as one of the Top 10 Beaches in Sri Lanka.
Top nature activity: For an additional cost, Trekking in Sinharaja Forest Reserve.
Why? The country’s last viable area of primary tropical rainforest received UNESCO status in 1988. More than 60 percent of the rainforest’s trees are endemic, and many of them are considered rare. There is much endemic wildlife, especially birds; the reserve is also home to more than 50 percent of Sri Lanka’s endemic species of mammals and butterflies, as well as many kinds of insects, reptiles and rare amphibians. Sinharaja Forest Reserve is located in the southwestern part of the island, covering an area of 11,187 hectares.
Top fitness activity: Thailand’s national sport, Muay Thai.
Why? Nicknamed the ‘Art of Eight Limbs’ and dating back to the 16th century, Muay Thai is a fascinating and highly energetic sport, which can be practiced by all age groups. Become adept at this ancient martial art at ÀNI Thailand under the guidance of a national boxing champion in our landscaped grounds. For an extra cost, we can also arrange tickets to a local professional Muay Thai match.
Top nature activity: Set off on a walk or a run through the rubber plantation that borders our resort.
Why? With scenic rubber plantation roads, flowing single tracks, enchanting views, fresh air and dense jungle sections, this peaceful trail has it all.
Top fitness activity: Tennis.
Why? Whether you’re a beginner or experienced player, enjoy complimentary tennis lessons with our onsite tennis pro on our private court. Relax your muscles afterwards with soothing soaks in two alfresco hot tubs, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. In the words of our Wellness and Community Head, Denny: “Tennis is a game of precision and finesse. Often referred to as the ‘gentleman’s sport,’ tennis embodies elegance, agility and sheer skill. This individual sport demands not just physical prowess but also mental acuity. The resounding echoes of the ball meeting the strings, the swift movements across the court, and the strategic placement of shots all contribute to the beauty of this game.”
Top nature experience: Hiking in Anguilla’s green-and-blue scenery.
Why? Embark on guided nature walks and hikes with our team, discovering local treasures such as caves, secret beaches and sacred springs. Denny says: “I love hiking because it offers more than just physical exertion; it’s a holistic experience that nurtures the mind, body, and spirit. The tranquility found in the midst of nature’s symphony, the camaraderie built among fellow hikers, and the lessons learned from overcoming obstacles along the trail are invaluable. I also love to learn about the different flora in the area and what it can do to your body as natural healers.”
Top fitness activity: Mountain biking.

Top nature activity: Spend precious time on the ocean, whether swimming and snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding, or enjoying a some quality beach time.
Why? Scalloped like a tiara, the north coast cradles ÀNI Dominican Republic like a jewel on its own private peninsula, with two natural swimming coves on either side. Guests are invited to borrow our complimentary watersports equipment for liquid thrills galore. As part of our Luxury Inclusions, enjoy a day at a nearby beach. Swimming in the clear aquamarine water is a wellness hit in itself, add kayaks, paddle boards and snorkels for the more adventurous.
